As Chief Information Officer Bert collaborates closely with the ZGEO Energy Executive Team. He leads the management, technology, and methodology teams, to establish and continuously mature the technology vertical and maintain the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and leading-edge methods that provides value the ZGEO Enterprise, our partners and the community.

Bert is a seasoned management and information technology (IT) executive with over 25 years of experience across the private and public sectors, including the energy, finance, legal, and healthcare industries. As President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of ZGEO Energy’s Technology Vertical, he partners with the leadership team to define technology strategy, establish best practices, and align organizational structure with business objectives. Bert has led numerous high-impact transformation initiatives.

Bert managed a global technology organization with a $20M budget and guided GPU Energy (now FirstEnergy) through a successful transition to a competitive utility during U.S. energy deregulation. Most recently, he served as Program Director for a $37M Department of Justice Enterprise Architecture and Program Management Services contract. At the Internal Revenue Service, he was instrumental in leading the agency’s transition from Waterfall to Agile development, enhancing product quality, delivery efficiency, and directly benefiting over 138 million U.S. taxpayers. He leverages his leadership experience using Agile frameworks, including Scrum and SAFe, to manage technically complex programs with defined budget constraints, aggressive timelines, and high levels of executive visibility.
